This site is being built as the central home for the projects and tools created under TheTechDad1027. The goal is not to fill a page with technology for technology’s sake, but to create useful things that solve real problems.
Over time, this site will make it easier to discover projects, learn what each one does, follow new ideas, and find practical information without having to dig through unnecessary complexity.
“Practical technology” here means more than productivity software or technical projects. It includes the perspective of working from home, solving everyday household problems, helping family members use technology with more confidence, and showing kids that technology can be something they understand and create — not just something they consume.
TheTechDad1027 grew out of a simple approach: when there is a repetitive task, an awkward process, or a problem that could be made easier with technology, see if there is a better way to do it.
A lot of that perspective comes from everyday life — working from home, managing the small technical challenges that come with family life, and finding better ways to organize, understand, automate, or simplify the things that come up day to day.
But the “Dad” in TheTechDad1027 is just as important as the “Tech.” Technology is also something I want to pass down to my kids: not simply how to use devices, apps, and websites, but how to understand them, question them, build with them, and see technology as a tool for solving problems.
That has led to the creation of browser-based tools, utilities, dashboards, organizers, analyzers, entertainment projects, and other experiments. Some are small and highly focused. Others grow into larger applications over time.
The common theme is practical technology — technology that fits into real life. It should be useful at work, useful at home, understandable enough to share with family, and approachable enough that the next generation can learn from it instead of simply consuming it.
